Maureen is a former competitive swimmer and cheerleader (flyer), born in Philippines, raised in Norway. Passionate and in love with her fitness journey, but always have her family coming first.

Q. WHEN AND WHY DID YOU START WORKING OUT?

A: I've always been very active. I used swim competitively and in 2013 decided to start weight training. I'm a sport driven person, like to do things with a purpose. I love challenges and find in fitness a way to get better day after day.

Q. HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE FITNESS INDUSTRY?

A: Right after I quit cheerleading, I tried to find a sport that I could compete as an individual athlete. I wanted to be a better person inside and out, be healthier, so I started working out and found it very interesting, so I decided to do more with it.

Q. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE EXERCISES?

A: Stiff deadlift, side lateral and hip thrust

Q. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BODY PART?

A: Calves and glutes

Q. WHO IS YOUR INSPIRATION IN THIS SPORT?

A: Lee Andrew Priest and India Paulino 

Q. WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF DRAGON PHARMA TEAM?

A: I really love the concept of the company, I feel that as an athlete it's really important to be a part of a team in which complements my image and my beliefs. I love the fact that Dragon takes a good care of their athletes, we are more a family than just a business.

Q. WHAT GOAL ARE YOU WORKING TOWARDS?

A: My long term goal is to be the best version of myself, and eventually win Ms. Olympia title.

Q. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?

A: Gorgonzola pasta

Q. WHAT’S YOUR CURRENT WORKOUT MIX (MUSIC)?

A: I listen to most likely Hiphop and chillstep.

Q. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF THE FITNESS/BODYBUILDING INDUSTRY?

A: I like to play tennis and learn to play new instruments like drums.

Q. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO START A FITNESS/BODYBUILDING JOURNEY?

A: There are 3 advices that I always carry with me. 1st make sure you know what you want in this journey, either you want to do this as a career or just an experience, because you will be dedicating your time. 2nd find a coach that knows what he/she is doing, make sure that your coach share the same beliefs as you, otherwise you doubt it and you will start looking for other answers and that will frustrate you, making you giving less than your full potential. 3rd love yourself.
