December 19, 2016, Rick had an accident in which he tore the ACL in his right knee, broke his nose as well as breaking his left wrist in three places.
Subsequent to the completion of Physical Therapy for his right knee and left wrist in March of 2017, Rick joined a gym and began reestablishing his fitness journey, one thing led to another ultimately leading to him competing in his first NPC competition, Battle on the Bay.
- WHEN AND WHY DID YOU START WORKING OUT?
I bought my first weight set, using my birthday card money, right after my 10th birthday. It was one of those old sets, the plastic filled with cement. I’ve worked out off and on ever since then. I played High School Football and College Football and trained/lifted for that.
- HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE FITNESS INDUSTRY?
December 19, 2016, Rick had an accident in which he tore the ACL in his right knee, broke his nose as well as breaking his left wrist in three places. Subsequent to the completion of Physical Therapy for his right knee and left wrist in March of 2017, Rick joined a gym and began reestablishing his fitness journey, one thing led to another ultimately leading to him competing in his first NPC competition, Battle on the Bay.
- WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE EXERCISES?
Dumbbell Lateral Raises and Leg Press machine
- WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BODY PART?
- WHO IS YOUR INSPIRATION IN THIS SPORT?
I’ve evolved over time, Rich Gaspari initially. Nowadays, I’m primarily self motivated, but when I need inspiration I have Team Ventura! We have a great coach in Omar Ventura and so many great athletes each with their own unique attributes I can draw inspiration from each and every one of them in one way or another.
- WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF DRAGON PHARMA TEAM?
Dragon Pharma has great products, products I believe in and use, which makes it easy to genuinely advocate for the company. When I was initially reaching out to Dragon Pharma you were announcing the Dragon Army, this shows the company is growing and I wanted to be a part of that growth as I’m growing in the industry as well.
- WHAT GOAL ARE YOU WORKING TOWARDS?
My IFBB Pro debut.
- WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?
- WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF THE FITNESS/BODYBUILDING INDUSTRY?
Travelling, Hunting and fishing
- WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO START A FITNESS/BODYBUILDING JOURNEY?
Learning as much as you can from as many different people as you can. Keep an open mind, continue to learn, we’re all different and what works for one person may not work for you. You have to be patient and consistent. Set goals and be self motivated.
